It’s a good thing I didn’t promise to keep this short every month – there’s so much to share!!!
Things to be ready for in September:
NEW group project! For the months of September and October, we’ll be collecting autographed Friendship Star blocks. Make 1 or make 10, your choice. Bring the blocks to the September and October meetings and one of the Board Members will collect them. I’ve attached the pattern and instructions!
Meeting on Tuesday the 10th – Members from Quilter’s Quorum (in Lacey) will be visiting us with their raffle quilt. Bring your dollar bills! (Psst, I heard that one of our members WON the raffle quilt from one of our previous visiting guilds – woot-woot!)
This Month’s Program – Lisa will be bringing some examples of her Snippets art pieces to show! This is to help you get even more fired up to take her class at Stay-Treat at the end of this month. She’ll have even more info about the class and what you might need to do before you join her. The weekend of Stay-Treat will be the 28th-29th, and the class will be on Saturday the 28th.
This Month’s Activities – More Autumn-themed blocks will be revealed! These blocks/projects are for you to do with what you want. No trading, no drawings, just more inspiration and options for your enjoyment! The final set of Autumn blocks will be revealed at the October meeting.
The final Mystery Quilt Clue will be available. I’ve seen the clues that members have been working on and they are lovely. When this all comes together these are gonna be beautiful!
Fat Quarter Theme – This month it’s AUTUMN. Congratulations to Irene, who won last month’s FQs.
Sew Daze on Saturday the 14th. Bring your machine, gadgets, and a project or three and meet at the fire hall (2123 SW Jackson Hwy, Chehalis) at 9:30. Bring your own lunch or something to share.
Lastly, it’s that time of year again – Elections! If you’re interested in joining the Board as an officer or as a part of a committee, be sure to talk to a board member. The slate of nominees will be announced at the October meeting and voting will occur at the November meeting.
