Thanksgiving News

We hope you’ve had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

You know what tomorrow is? Black Friday!

Getting up before dawn and heading out into the land of retail isn’t for everyone (oh, you brave souls!), but we know that many of you will be doing some holiday shopping online.

Here’s your chance to painlessly help support our guild –

You can select Southwest Washington Rainy Daze Quilt Guild as your charity of choice when shopping on!

A small donation will be made to our guild with each of your purchases at no cost to you!

Because of the restrictions of the past 18 months, we haven’t really had any fundraising opportunities. We have registered with the AmazonSmile Foundation to received a small percentage of the purchase price when you place an order. Each donation is just pennies, but you know what happens when you toss pennies in a jar: It adds up!

The easiest way to get started is to click on the banner over in the sidebar. OR, you click this link to The SMILE program is also available in Amazon’s iOS and Android shopping apps.

Share the link with your friends and family and start tossing pennies!

January Meeting

Our next in-person meeting is on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 (!).

This is our New Beginnings Potluck. Bring a dish to share, and plan for an evening of good food and good fun. The guild will provide ham for the main dish.

We will be meeting at 6:00pm at

Ford’s Prairie Grange
2640 W. Reynolds Rd.
Centralia WA 98531

Temporary Meeting Change

We are thrilled to be meeting in person again, after over a year of only online interaction. It is wonderful to see the faces of old and new friends – and OH! The Show and Tell! (Almost) everyone has been busy making beautiful quilts and bags and art pieces.

We are still encountering problems that are limiting our ability to gather as a group. We are met with continual challenges as we try to find a location for our general meetings.

Until restrictions are lifted and our options are restored,

the Board has made the difficult decision to meet every other month,

beginning in November.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 9.

No, we don’t have a location yet, but we are working hard to find one!

There are a couple of silver linings here. First, we won’t have to travel as much in the dark – and possibly stormy – nights. Second, you’ll have more time to enjoy your holidays – and doesn’t everyone need more time at the holidays?

There is one more change – we hope to move the December potluck to January. Instead of a Holiday Potluck, we hope it will be our New Beginnings Potluck!

It’s a big change, we know, and it wasn’t fun making the decision. If you know of a Centralia/Chehalis location that might work for a meeting, please reach out and share your ideas.

Finally, An IN-PERSON Meeting!

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 13 – we’re having a real life, in-person guild meeting!

We’ll meet at Sisters Quilt Shop, 476 N Market Blvd in Chehalis from 6:30-8pm. Feel free to come early and do some shopping to thank the great folks at the shop for letting us use their classroom!

There will be very little “Business” and a whole lot of “Pleasure” at the meeting – bring lots and lots of show and tell, and prepare to catch up with old and new friends.

2020 Guild Meetings

As you all know, we’re still not ‘out of the woods’. Once we are able to meet again, we will announce it on this page, on our Facebook page, and we’ll send an email to the membership.

Hang in there, everyone, and please stay safe.

April-June 2020 Meetings

May 29 UPDATE: The June General Meeting is cancelled. Sweat Shop and Community Service cancellations are possible.

We will attempt to reschedule the Stay-Treat for later in the year. Hold on to those potluck blocks – we’ll still have a drawing for them when we meet next time!

We are all concerned about the COVID-19 (“corona”) virus and how it will affect ourselves, our friends and our loved ones.

On March 14, The Daily Chronicle reported

Lewis County senior centers will close to the public until further notice in an effort to protect senior citizens from the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a post on the nonprofit Lewis County Seniors Facebook page.–emergency/article_654d4286-666e-11ea-a4dd-cb7e7ed67b3f.html

All members will be notified via email and the cancellation will be announced here on our website.

Please continue to take reasonable precautions with your health and that of those around you.
