RDQG April E-Blast

I’ve got lots to talk about today – buckle up!

First off, Mary’s Big Quilt Shop will be meeting at 10 a.m. next Tuesday, April 2 at the fire hall. This month Mary really needs help laying out two quilts and starting to sew another. Can you drop by and help her out? It’s only a few hours and it’s always entertaining to get together with other members and their friends (yep – bring a friend!!).

More things to be ready for in April:

Sew Daze on Saturday the 13th. Bring your machine, gadgets, and a project or three and meet at the fire hall (2123 SW Jackson Hwy, Chehalis) at 9:30. Park in the back of the building; the door is on the left end of the building as you’re facing the fire trucks. Bring your own lunch or something to share.

This Month’s Program – No program, just good grub! It’s the Spring Fling Potluck! The guild will be providing fried and baked chicken. Bring a dish to share (don’t forget serving utensils) and enjoy some good food and good company. Doors will open at 5:15, the eating part begins at 6. Be sure to bring a place setting and something to drink!

And how are you doing with your Potluck Blocks? Karen K. made it easy for us this time – your choice of a 12½” (unfinished) block in black and white with one accent color. Some people showed their blocks at last meeting and they were wonderful! Make one or a dozen – each block gets you an entry for a chance to win.

This Month’s Activity – Nothing new, but if it’s your month, be sure to bring your star blocks for the Block Exchange with your group.
We’re looking forward to seeing how you have completed the Brown Bag Challenge at the MAY meeting.

Fat Quarter Theme – “Floral” – Congratulations to Sandra H. and Valerie S., who shared last month’s Green FQs.

Continue to bring your small quilts (don’t forget last year’s Bee challenge quilts!) for display at the Market Street Bakery next month. Coral is the person in the know! I’m attaching the info sheet that Coral will need with each of your quilts.

The Color Boxes will be collected at the MAY meeting and the blocks handed over to Kathy B., Sheron and Valerie S. to make into quilt tops (thank you for volunteering!). If you still want to make a block, contact Karen K. to get your name on the list.

Another retreat opportunity??? Yes, indeed. Karen H. is organizing a Panhandle Lake retreat from April 15-19. The cost is between $100- 150 depending on how many people attend. Are you going to miss the guild’s April 4 retreat? Can’t get enough retreat-ing? Contact Karen H.

And last, a teaser – you may want to block out the last weekend in June for a special guild event.
All will be revealed at the April meeting!

Whether it’s for your love of church or chocolate (or both), I hope you all have a very nice Easter.

In my house, we call it “Discounted Peeps Eve”. EmojiEmoji

UFO Challenge January

This month’s number is

3

Look on the UFO list you created and work on whatever’s at number 3. We hope to see or hear of your progress at the February meeting!

If your #3 is dependent on getting #2 done, just do #2 and switch the numbers. It’s okay. Nobody’s going to judge – the point is to make progress!
